Uploading receipts

Get a receipt into Verluma Entry from any device.

What you can upload

A receipt can be a photo (taken straight from a phone) or a PDF. Verluma Entry checks the actual file content, not just the file extension, before accepting it — so a mislabeled or corrupted file is rejected up front rather than causing a problem later.

How to upload

  1. 1
Open the client the receipt belongs to, and choose Upload receipt.
  2. 2
Select the photo or PDF from your device.
  3. 3
The file is stored privately — see how your data is handled — and OCR extraction begins automatically.
TipA clear, well-lit, uncropped photo of the whole receipt gives OCR the best chance of reading every field correctly. It's still worth a quick look either way — see reviewing OCR suggestions.

What happens after

Uploading a receipt doesn't create a transaction by itself. It creates a document that OCR reads and suggests fields from — you still confirm those fields (or enter your own) before anything becomes a real transaction. See entering transactions.

Archiving instead of deleting

If you upload a receipt by mistake, or a document is no longer relevant, you archive it rather than permanently delete it. An archived receipt disappears from your everyday list but isn't destroyed — a financial source document is treated as something to keep, not something to casually throw away.

  • Archived receipts can be restored if you need them again.
  • Archiving a receipt doesn't remove any transaction already linked to it.
